Debt-Free Temple: A Historic Milestone
Through the unwavering dedication, perseverance, and contributions of our entire community, Shree Pashupatinath Foundation, USA proudly became the first debt-free Nepali-American temple on July 31, 2019 after successfully paying off the mortgage on its property.
When the foundation purchased the property in 2013, it carried a total debt of $500,000. Over the years, various fundraising initiatives, the 2011 Mahapuran, the 2018 temple consecration, and multiple religious and cultural events played a crucial role in strengthening the foundation financially.
This achievement would not have been possible without the generous contributions of over 1,000 donors, who donated anywhere from a single penny to $140,000 or more. The foundation deeply appreciates the selfless efforts of board members, advisors, donors, volunteers, local Nepali organizations, media partners, and every community member who has supported this mission with their time, resources, and devotion.
Future Plans & Continued Support Needed
Although the burden of monthly loan payments has been eliminated, operational expenses remain a challenge. These include:
✔ Salaries for priests and staff
✔ Costs for prasad, electricity, gas, water, internet, and maintenance
✔ Garden upkeep, waste management, and other operational expenses
To sustain the temple’s future, we have launched the “Donate $1 a Day” campaign, encouraging devotees to contribute a small amount regularly to make a significant impact.
Upcoming Development Plans
Enhancing the temple’s exterior to reflect traditional temple architecture
Expanding facilities and services for devotees
Organizing cultural and religious programs more effectively
Our Community’s Ongoing Support is Vital
This milestone was made possible by your love, dedication, and generosity. We firmly believe that the community will continue to support and participate in the temple’s future religious and cultural initiatives with the same enthusiasm and commitment.
Shree Pashupatinath Foundation, USA, expresses its heartfelt gratitude to all.
