Our History

The Growth of the Nepali Community

The Nepali community in Greater Los Angeles has been growing for over three decades, with a significant increase in recent years. As the community expanded, the need for a dedicated space for worship, cultural celebrations, and social gatherings became more evident.

The Vision for a Cultural and Spiritual Center

While various Nepali organizations worked to support the community, there was no unified space for preserving traditions and fostering cultural identity. Recognizing this need, community leaders came together to establish Shree Pashupatinath Foundation, USA—a dedicated center for Nepali heritage, spirituality, and unity.

Milestones and Achievements

Since its formation, the foundation has:

  • Hosted Nepali festivals, religious ceremonies, and cultural programs.
  • Organized fundraising efforts to support the development of a spiritual and cultural center.
  • Conducted educational programs on language, heritage, and religious teachings.
  • Strengthened community ties through social events and initiatives.

Looking Ahead

The foundation’s mission is to establish a Hindu-Buddhist Cultural and Spiritual Center, including a Pashupatinath Temple, Buddha Stupa, and Community Hall. This center will serve as a hub for worship, meditation, education, and cultural events, ensuring that Nepali traditions thrive for generations to come.

Shree Pashupatinath Foundation, USA, stands as a testament to the community’s dedication to preserving heritage, fostering unity, and creating a lasting legacy.

Our Top Priorities

Preserving Culture, Serving the Community

Pathshala – Preserving Language and Culture

At Shree Pashupatinath Foundation, we are dedicated to preserving our heritage through Pathshala, a Nepali language and culture program. Our mission is to help the younger generation stay connected to their roots by making them literate in Nepali and culturally aware.

Due to limited seats, we encourage early enrollment to be part of this meaningful and transformative journey.
Our curriculum follows official textbooks recommended by Nepal’s Ministry of Education and/or NRN Association, North America.
